Steel Doors
Component Structures manufactures transformer room doors to SWADA standards per clients specifications to required width and height. Transformer room doors are manufactured without louvres, bottom louvres, bottom and top louvres or fully louvred – see attachment for various sizes.
Standard steel doors of 1.6mm mild steel with steel hinges are also manufactured to clients specifications.
Transformer room doors are made out of 1.6mm to 3mm mild steel, red oxide primed or 1.6mm to 3mm pre-galvanised mild steel. Steel door leaves cannot be hot dip galvanized as the door leaves warp.
Vermin proofing of 48x12 galvanised expanded metal is put at the back of all louvres.
Brass hinges are used to carry the weight of the doors. A choice of stainless steel ball bearing hinges is also available.
The standard lock on a transformer room door is a padlatch (takes a padlock). Options of mortice locks or various panic bars are available. Component Structures manufactures the own in house quick release mechanism that is specified for certain projects.
Doors can be open out or open in and single doors opening left handed or right handed. – see attachment.
